ALIVE LURES
ALIVE LURES SIMULATE INSECTS WITH BUZZING WINGS
by Ken Liebeskind
Yalesville, Connecticut
Alive lure is an electronic lure with vibrating buzzing wings that simulate an insect. The Alive lure, which was reviewed in Field & Stream in April, is battery operated and features vibrating wings that create a rippling effect on the water. Alive lures weigh about three-quarters of an ounce and are 2.75 inches long.
The front and rear sections screw apart so you can replace the photo-cell battery, which lasts about 14 hours.

Alive lure's action is water activated. Alive lures come with a battery and three extra wings.
"I've seen fish hit insects that have fallen in the water and buzzed around, so I'm definitely trying the Alive lure," one angler said.
When it comes to electronic lures, the Bite Lite from www.scientificfishing.com stands out. The Bite Lite utilizes a battery operated electrical system to flash a blood red light down the lure's tail when it moves in water to mimic an injured prey. The Bite Lite gives a different presentation with each cast, so if fish misses it on the first flash it will attack the next time. The Bite Lite is available in kits with different size lures for top, middle and deep water. They come in an array of colors, from chartreuse to yellow rootbeer.
