FISHING TROUT
FISHING TROUT WITH THE TITAN MINNOW LURE
By Ken Liebeskind
Yalesville, Connecticut
If you're fishing trout, look for them in lakes or streams. They are most commonly found in streams because the water temperature is between 50 and 70 degrees, cold enough for the trout metabolism. Streams fed by springs or melting snow are the ideal habitats for trout. They can live in other bodies of water, but they must be located in the cooler north, where trout can live year round.
Trout are very perceptive and can sense a human's footsteps along the bank of a stream. So an important fishing trout tip is to remain quiet and don't make sudden movements.

Many anglers fishing trout in streams use spinning outfits and fly rods. The most common bait fishing rig for fishing trout is a number 8 or 10 hook tied to a 4 lb. test line with a split shot attached 12 inches above the hook.
If you're fishing trout in lakes you can use trolling lures and drifting baits. Flatline and downrigger trolling can be employed depending on the depth you're fishing. Flatline trolling works best early or late in the season when water temperatures are suitable for trout near the surface. In summer when trout are deep, downriggers are suggested.
Trout can see colors so when you're fishing trout, your lures should match the colors of the foods trout eat, which range from insects to crustaceans. Trout also love minnows, and the best new fishing trout minnow lure is the Titan Minnow from www.scientificfishing.com. It's an 8" lure that's ideal for large trout, hand painted with 3D eyes and a textured tail that resembles a live minnow.
The Titan Minnow floats on the surface like a topwater lure and goes deep upon retrieval, so it's ideal for trout that may be near the surface but often swim down deep.
"I'm an avid trout angler, always looking for new lures and I was happy to find the Titan Minnow," one fisherman said. "It's a large lure I can use to catch trophy trout and it looks exactly like a minnow so the fish attack it."
