It's not easy catching pike, because they're one of the largest and most aggressive freshwater fish out there. Not only do they leap through the air and strike baits aggressively, they are heavier than most predator fish with razor sharp teeth. Deciding on the best pike lures isn't easy.
Spoons have been used as pike lures for a long time and they still work great. Choose a heavy spoon with a bigger bend that produces greater action and sound and you'll catch a few pike.
Spinnerbaits are easy to use, are virtually weedless and feature high flash and vibration, so they can be successful pike lures. Spinnerbaits with large willow leaf blades work best for pike.
Soft plastic lures also work well as pike lures. They sink slow in the water, with a triggering effect that's perfect for pike holding back.

Use six to nine inch plastic lures in bright colors.
Long and thin jerkbaits also work well as pike lures. They mimic the action of a wounded baitfish and the pike will hone in for the kill.
Everyone knows topwater baits are the most exciting and that goes for pike lures, too. Large buzzbaits with large buzzers and skirts with trailer hooks will entice pike to sail above the water for a bite.
