SUMMER BASS FISHING TIPS

Many anglers think bass fishing in the summer is too difficult because bass look for cooler, deeper water, so they're harder to find. But there are a number of summer bass fishing tips you can use to land a few big ones. First of all, bass aren't solely in deep waters. You can fish shallow tributaries and bays and the outer and top edges of weed beds. Another one of our summer bass fishing tips is to fish rivers instead of lakes because the moving water makes bass more active and you can use faster retrieves to catch them.
You can continue to fish shallow areas, less than two feet deep with light soft plastics and crankbaits. Fish finesse worms with rod twitches and slow reeling. Meanwhile, if you fish deep areas, use heavier baits like jigs, cast them out and bring them back slowly. Allow the lure to sink to the bottom and give it a steady twitch then reel the slack slowly.

Our summer bass fishing tips also include night fishing, when bass are back in shallow water in an aggressive feeding mode. Early mornings can also be a good time for bass fishing and you can fish top water baits above submerged weeds and around stumps.
As you can see, there are a number of summer bass fishing tips that help make summer a great time to catch bass. The best idea is to fish early in the morning or at night when the temperatures are cooler and bass return to shallower water.
We've mentioned soft plastics, crankbaits and finesse worms in our summer bass fishing tips as some of the lures you can use to catch bass. Another exciting option is an electronic lure that blinks light to catch bass. The Bite Lite from NGC Sports flashes blood red upon retrieval to mimic an injured prey, which is a novel way to catch bass and also a highly successful one, with three anglers using the Bite Lite to catch 650 largemouth bass in a 25 hour period in a Mexican lake. Check it out and see how many largemouth you can land. We hope you've enjoyed our summer bass fishing tips. Use them on your next summer outing and share them with your friends. |
